THE GIFT OF A BRICK WALL

| Brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls aren't there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to show us how badly we want things.
. . . When it comes to men that are romantically interested in you, it's really simple. Just ignore everything they say and only pay attention to what they do.
Apologies are not pass/fail. When giving an apology, any performance lower than an A really doesn't cut it.
If I could only give three words of advice, they would be "tell the truth." If I got three more words, I'd add: "All the time." |
Sometimes, all you have to do is ask.
- Randy Pausch, professor of computer science, Carnegie Mellon University.A pioneer in virtual reality, Randy's work includes ways to bridge the gap between art and computer science.
Find the best in everybody. You might have to wait a long time. Sometimes years. But people will show you their good side. Just keep waiting. No matter how long it takes.
Never give up.
Randy has pancreatic cancer. Doctors estimated in August 2007 that he had three to six months to live. You can find more about him on his web page.
You know, life is a gift.
This series of quotes is from Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams, his final lecture at Carnegie Mellon University. I have just finished watching his lecture which is available in several locations on the internet (here is one location). Take ninety minutes out of your day and watch it. It is extraordinary.
